Monsoon Season?
Greetings,
Hope everyone survived the torrential rains. Summer is flying by. So much fun to have, so little time! I've been enjoying the local art scene and good times with friends. My husband and I embarked on an Iroquois Boat night time concert cruise. It was a blast - we'd recommend it. In addition they have historical, sightseeing & happy hour cruises.
My career highlight of doing commissioned work has to be being asked to create a painting for Peterbilt Trucking as a partner gift for Krielkamp Trucking's 75th Anniversary. I was honored to be invited to a dinner and art unveiling party with this generous welcoming group of folks. It was an amazing & special evening. Rick Smith (Peterbilt GM) was responsible for assembling and mounting the finished art on an appropriately industrial diamond plate steel frame - exactly what it needed.
Yesterday I finished a 4 step textured wall with glaze for a rustic bathroom treatment. Haven't done this one in a while and the results were a big success. (see all photos in gallery on right).
I've also been busy with website design work. On some hot days I don't mind sitting in my cool basement studio over being up on a ladder. ;-)
Check out some of the latest. (I also gave my site a facelift).
Anita Recommends: Fine Art America ~ a site that sells reproductions of artists work. If you can't splurge on originals it's a great way to get prints, deals on framed art, even greeting cards from artists literally all over the world. They have just expanded to sell art directly from Facebook. If you are into social networking feel free to add me as a friend for personal updates and recommendations for neat stuff to do. ;-)
Have a great summer!!!
Anita
